Forget what happened last season look forward not back....

Lately I have been reading online about so many athletes who continually rehash bad experiences with Coaches or teams.


Why? What are you doing? Why are you re-traumatizing yourself?


If you are doing it for the purpose for learning ok lets go there. Lets talk about it and lets see how we can ensure we can avoid having the same experience in the future.


If we are doing it just to tell the world that this Coach was awful and he/she was should not be a coach or that this team should not be in the league. Stop! Its time to move on.


Its time to stop letting those memories rent space for free in your brain.


Not only is it not healthy for you, it is actually stopping you for moving forward.


The psychology damage aside , it is actually physically not good for you either. It is detrimental to your health by causing tension elsewhere in your muscles.


Stress and Trauma are one of the biggest contributors to illnesses. We often just do not connect the two and put it down to something else but that anger and resentment you are harboring, well that may just be what is really stopping you from being 💯 healthy or preventing that injury from healing ❤️‍🩹 .


Hey ! Don't get me wrong...I am sympathetic. I had that a-hole coach plenty of times, I also had a creepy coach too, but I didn't let coach live in my head and I choose not to allow the experience to penetrate my mindset or my performance.


I can help you to do the same, find ways to change your environment if you need to and make your mindset stronger INCASE you encounter the same type of person again. Sorry ! It is highly possible you may.


I have been preaching this for years! Sport Coaching has zero barriers to entry. It is literally harder to get a job at McDonalds ( better job security too ) than it is to become a coach. The barriers to entry are very low in coaching so anyone can call themselves a coach and many people who shouldn't be a coach somehow get hired.


But lets not get mad lets find solutions and take care of ourselves. Why waste the energy we can be putting into performance or live in the past?


Let's get even by being mentally prepared for anything and take back your control so you can have the best experience as a competitive athlete.


Its time to RESET !
